Doberman Nutrition

What We Feed Our Dobermans

We proudly feed Life's Abundance! We feed the All Life's Stages for our adult Dobermans (>1 years old) and Large Breed Puppy Formula for our puppies (<1 years old).

We've tried a lot of different food over the years (Purina Pro Plan, Paw Tree, Diamond, Sport Dog Food) and Life's Abundance is by far the best food we have found. The specific nutrients and ingredients for their Large Breed Puppy Formula, and their All Life Stages are the optimal dog food for Dobermans.

We want our dogs to have the best food we can find and make sure to start your puppy on the best food too.

Importance of a Healthy Diet

Genetics and Diet. These are the two main things that go into your Doberman's health (barring injury). We try our absolute best to make sure the Doberman puppies we produce are as genetically healthy as possible. Through health testing and choosing pedigrees with as much diversity as possible, we aim to give you a Doberman puppy genetically set up to have a long successful life.

Nutrition is were you as a Doberman owner do your part to keep your Doberman healthy throughout their life. Just as with people, what your Doberman eats everyday is vital to their health. Discount, dye foods, like "Old Roy" or "Purina Puppy Chow" are the equivalents of soda and potato chips. They even dye the kibbles to make them look like carrots or peas, which we always get a big laugh about. The dye is added for no reason but to make you as a dog owner think you're giving your dog something healthy.

Feeding a high quality diet is important for the short term, but especially the long term. Joints, heart, coat, skin, teeth and eyes are all affected by diet and feeding a great quality food from birth is one of the best ways to give your Doberman a healthy, happy life.
